These are the terms for using KnitGrader. It is a free set of knitting tools and guides. By using the site, you agree to what is set out here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The tools are free and provided as is

KnitGrader is free to use. We provide the tools and the guides as is and as available, for general information, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise the site will always be up, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We may change, pause, or retire any part of it at any time.

Results are a starting point, not a guarantee of fit

The stitch counts, row counts, shaping, grade sheets, and other output from this site are a starting point, not a guarantee. Knitting gauge and fit depend on your own yarn, your needles, and your tension, and gauge can change after blocking. Two knitters working the same pattern can get different results.

So you must do the work the tool cannot do for you. Knit and block a gauge swatch, measure it, and check the fit against your own body or the wearer before you trust any graded number or cast on a whole project. The output is guidance to help you plan, not professional advice. You are responsible for the results of your project, including how it turns out and whether it fits.

Acceptable use

Use the site for your own lawful purposes. Do not try to break, overload, scrape in bulk, or interfere with the site or the servers behind it. Do not use it to do anything illegal, to harm others, or to send spam or abusive messages through the contact form. The contact form is for genuine messages only. We may block access if you misuse the site.

Intellectual property

The design, text, code, guides, and branding of KnitGrader are ours and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may use the tools and print or save the grade sheets and other output for your own knitting, personal or otherwise. Anything you knit is yours, and the patterns you create with the tools are yours to use. You may not copy the site itself, rebrand it, or pass it off as your own.

Third-party links and services

The site may link to other websites, and in future may show ads served by third parties. We do not control those sites or ads and are not responsible for their content or their practices. Following a link or an ad is at your own risk, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from relying on its output. That includes a project that does not fit, wasted yarn or time, lost data, or lost profit. Because the tools are free and the results are a starting point you must verify, you use the site at your own risk. Nothing here removes a liability that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, that counts as accepting the updated terms.
